Dr. Corey Lesseig attended school as a child and as an adult.  For further elaboration see below.

  • Bachelor of Science in History Education -- Truman State University
  • Master of Arts in History -- Truman State University
  • Doctor of Philosophy in History -- University of Mississippi

Dr. Lesseig has taught at Pierce County Middle School longer than any of his current students have attended middle school.  A member of the faculty at PCMS since 2004, Dr. Lesseig did have a life before middle school.  For a brief synopsis of Doc's life refer to the biographical section.

Born and raised in Missouri, Dr. Lesseig served in the Marine Corps and saw a good part of the globe, and decided he wanted to move to the South.  After completing his doctorate at the University of Mississippi, he and his family relocated to south Georgia in 1997 where he and his wife, Lisa, took positions with Waycross College.  Lisa is now the Registrar for the College of Coastal Georgia in Brunswick, and the two of them have raised three daughters, Camille (25), Catherine (23), and Carolyn (14) here in Blackshear.  "Doc" has been a member of the faculty of PCMS since 2004, so, yes, he taught your older brothers, sisters, and cousins.
